Rotary’s Regal Pre-PELS Turns into a Celebration of Hope with Ranjit Bijoor’s “Be Happy, My Way”

Thailand, November 2025
It was meant to be a book launch, but by the time the evening ended, it felt more like a movement in the making. At the Rotary International Regal Pre-PELS in Naukluea, Rtn. Ranjit Bijoor unveiled Be Happy, My Way – When Life Presses the RESET Button, and the hall of Rotarians discovered that happiness can be an act of service.

Hosted by District Governor Rajan Duaa, the event drew an audience that expected an author talk but left speaking in whispers about healing and purpose. The book was launched by Padmashree Dr. Mukesh Batra, who called it “a mirror that shows us what really matters.”

When Ajahn Mae Chee Brigitte, the Buddhist nun from the Naukluea Monastery, requested a signed copy after reading a few paragraphs, even the usually formal Rotarian gathering fell silent. It was a stillness filled with meaning.

Governor Duaa later honoured Rtn. Bijoor with a Scroll of Honour, and PDG Rajendra Agarwal’s wry line — “The only thing you don’t get on Amazon is happiness” — drew laughter that broke the intensity of the moment.

In the weeks since, Be Happy, My Way has travelled through Rotary International circles like a gentle breeze. Rotarians are gifting it to friends, quoting it in meetings, and referencing it in wellness seminars. One club in India is distributing copies to teachers and healthcare workers as part of a gratitude initiative.

For Ranjit Bijoor, who also heads BritishLearning.UK and founded Pranasattva.AI, the impact has been humbling. “It’s not my story anymore,” he said with a smile. “It’s everyone’s.”

As one delegate put it while leaving the hall that night, “This wasn’t a launch — it was a reminder that happiness, like service, multiplies when shared.”
